Aditya L1: ISRO successfully launches India’s maiden solar mission from Sriharikota

Aditya L1: ISRO's Aditya L1 was successfully launched from Satish Dhawan Space Center today i.e. 2 September 2023. Aditya-L1, weighing about 1,4807.7 kg, is the first space-based observatory to study the Sun and will be flown by ISRO. Reliable Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).

Aditya-L1 spacecraft has successfully separated aboard the PSLV rocket and will continue its journey towards the Sun in a 125-day journey, ISRO said in an update. On the successful launch of Aditya L-1, ISRO Chairman S Somnath said, "The Aditya L1 spacecraft was injected into an elliptical orbit...which was exactly what was intended by PSLV. I would like to congratulate PSLV for such a different mission approach today to place Aditya L1 in the correct orbit."
